During our Literacy work we have been reading a range of stories by significant authors. We began by studying books written by Julia Donaldson. We enjoyed reading and writing about The Gruffalo and the type of character he is. This week we have started investigating a different author, Oliver Jeffers, to begin with we have looked at a book he has illustrated, 'The Day the Crayons Quit'. Today we have become reading detectives in Year 2 as we have investigated letters written by each of the crayons in this story, looking at the feelings of the crayons portrayed by the vocabulary that the author has used. We are looking forward to continuing our work on books written by Oliver Jeffers.
Have you read any books written by Oliver Jeffers?
