Attendance Letters
Attendance Newsletter
We have been sending out weekly attendance letters to all parents and carers. These letters show which band of attendance your child/children currently sit in against National Expectation.
Letter Name | Attendance Band | % of Attendance Covered | Purpose of Letter for Parents |
97% or above | Green Band | 97% up to 100% | To celebrate your child having great attendance. |
Letter One | Yellow Band | 95% to 96.99% | To celebrate your child having attendance that is almost National expectation and encourage you to keep up the good work. |
Letter Two | Orange Band | 92% to 95.99% | To let you know your child's attendance is dropping close to being a concern. |
Letter Three | Red Band | 90% to 91.99% | Attendance is a significant concern, please talk to us to see if we can help. |
Letter Four | Red Band | Below 90% | Your child is now considered to be persistently absent from school: we need to be in communication to discuss a plan of action for improving attendance. |
Panel Letter | Red Band | Below 90% | We monitor attendance trends weekly, if your child is in the persistent absenteeism category and has further time away from school we will call you into school for a meeting to discuss how we can work together to improve your child's access to their learning. |
Each week when tracking the attendance trends of children we will send out a compliments slip to children who have had an improving attendance trend showing:
1 Week 100%
2 consecutive weeks 100%
3 consecutive weeks 100%
Class teachers will be celebrating individual children's attendance achievements and personal improvements daily.
Each week children will be given their class attendance and if they are 100% on any day they will receive their 100% biscuit reward on that day.
We are working really hard to encourage children to come to school every single day. We can cope with colds and headaches in school and would encourage you to send your child into school if at all possible.
Thank you!
Mrs Kelly
