Being Safe

What do pupils need to learn? What do pupils need to learn?

Pupils need to learn:

  • how to identify and minimise risk
  • how to make informed and safe choices
  • how to stand up for their own opinions and resist unhelpful peer pressure.

  • We promote this key outcome in the following ways:

    • Appropriate policies
    • Child Protection Procedures
    • Risk assessments
    • Use of relevant class and school rules
    • Strong relationships between staff and pupils
    • Ensure safe practice in all aspects of school life
    • Promote anti-racism
    • Review all risk assessments
    • Teaching Social Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL)
    • School Council
    • anti-bullying campaigns
    • Assemblies- Police, fire, railway, bus and ambulance
