I am writing to inform you of my intention to retire from my post as Headteacher of Corinthian Community School at the end of this calendar year. I have been privileged to have been Headteacher for the last 16 years and I will leave with many fond memories of my time here.
I must firstly thank all of the Governors for putting their faith and trust in me on my appointment 27 years ago and hope that I have repaid their confidence in continuing Corinthian’s journey through such turbulent, challenging and uncertain times educationally, politically and financially. I have enjoyed almost every moment! There has certainly never been a dull moment.
I have complete confidence in our governing body making an outstanding appointment for my successor, they know exactly what is required to ensure Corinthian remains a warm, friendly and very ‘special’ place for pupils to thrive, flourish and excel. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Corinthian and especially seeing the school develop over the years. It has been exciting and very rewarding, with the support of a happy, committed and highly professional staff, and an outstanding leadership team.
Whilst I would have relished the challenge to take the school into its next exciting phase, it may be the right time for an energetic, committed and passionate successor who ‘gets’ the school ethos to continue our exciting journey.
I will miss everything about the school – your wonderful children who engage me every day with their amazing contributions, good humour and achievements; you, the parents who have been so supportive, and of course my outstanding staff and governing body.
I feel I will be passing Corinthian over to a new post holder in a very positive and healthy position. Thank you all once again for all your friendship and support, having the belief in me, and enabling me to end my career on such a positive note.
Mr G Crockett
