Re: PE kits

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we begin a new school year, we would like to introduce a small change to our routine on PE days.

Currently, children bring a PE kit to school and leave it here for a half term, changing in class on the days that they take part in PE. This presents several obstacles.

Firstly, we are having an increasing number of incidents where PE kit is misplaced or lost in school. This often results in children not being able to take part in the session due to health and safety issues arising from not having the correct kit. Additionally, children often forget their PE kit resulting in a similar situation whereby we cannot allow them to take part in PE wearing uniform.

Subsequently, we now ask that on the day your child has PE, could you please send them in to school wearing their PE kit (white T shirt/navy shorts and black pumps or black trainers) which they can wear for the full day. They may also wear a dark pair of unbranded joggers (blue/black or grey) and a school jumper on chilly days so as to stay warm for the rest of the day.

As well as the reasons stated above, children wearing their kit for the day cuts down on waiting

time, meaning that lessons can begin promptly and all our children can get their full allocation of PE t ime per week.

If you have any queries on this matter, please contact your child's class teacher initially.
