PreSchool Room
🍃 Our Preschool Room: (3–4 Years)
Foundations for the Future
As children move into their final years with us, they enter The Preschool Room—a dynamic environment designed for children aged 3–5 years. This is a time of remarkable transformation, where "I can do it" becomes "I can lead," and natural curiosity matures into purposeful discovery.
An Environment of Enquiry & Wonder
The Preschool Room is structured to balance focused learning with the freedom to explore. Here, we transition from simple plays to intentional projects that challenge young minds and prepare them for the move to "big school." Our curriculum includes:
-
Literacy & Language Arts: Expanding vocabulary through daily storytelling, phonics games, and "print-rich" environments that encourage early writing.
-
Mathematical Thinking: Exploring concepts of weight, measurement, and sequencing through hands-on tools and real-world problem-solving.
-
STEM & Science: Asking the "Why?" and "How?" through experiments, gardening, and observing the natural world in our discovery zones.
-
The Arts: A sophisticated creative space where children use various media to represent their ideas and feelings.
Empowering the Independent Learner
In this final stage of the daycare journey, we focus on the "Executive Function" skills that help children thrive in any classroom:
-
Leadership & Social Skills: We encourage "Collaborative Play," where children work together to build complex structures or invent their own games, learning to negotiate and empathise.
-
Self-Regulation: Using our cosy "Calm Centres," children learn to identify their emotions and find the tools they need to focus and recharge.
-
Life Skills & Independence: From serving their own healthy snacks to managing their belongings, our preschoolers take pride in their growing autonomy.
-
School Readiness (EYFS): Your child’s Key Worker continues to provide bespoke observations aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring a seamless transition to Primary School with a portfolio of achievements to show for it.
