The Meadow Specialist SEND Provision

Welcome to The Meadow

The Meadow is Corinthian Primary’s specialist provision for children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). We provide a calm, structured and nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop their communication, independence, wellbeing and confidence.

Our provision consists of two classes of up to 10 pupils, each staffed by a teacher, HLTA and LSA, alongside a shared general assistant who supports personal care and lunchtime routines. This high level of adult support ensures that learning is personalised and that every child’s needs are consistently met.

The Meadow is based across two classrooms, Bluebell and Buttercup, with a shared central learning space, allowing children to work in small groups and access targeted interventions. Each classroom also includes its own sensory room, providing safe and calming spaces for regulation throughout the day.

Pupils enjoy direct access to outdoor areas, enabling free-flow play and outdoor learning. We also have a dedicated physical play space with climbing equipment to support motor development and sensory needs.

Our approach is child-centred and collaborative. We work closely with families and a range of external professionals—such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists—to ensure a joined-up and consistent approach.

Children in The Meadow are valued members of the wider school. Where appropriate, pupils join their peers in mainstream activities to build confidence, connection and a sense of belonging within the Corinthian Primary community.
