Our Commitment to Your Child's Safety

At Corinthian Community Primary School, we believe every child deserves a safe, caring, and enriching environment to grow in. Our curriculum empowers children with the tools they need to stay safe, helping them identify risks, build healthy relationships, and understand when and how to ask for help.

Working Together with Families

We pride ourselves on working in partnership with parents and carers. However, as a school, we have a legal duty (statutory responsibility) to protect children. This means:

  • Referrals: If we have a concern about a child’s safety, we must share that information with the police, health, or children’s services.

  • Investigations: While we are not investigators, we are legally required to refer concerns to the experts who are.

  • Communication: We aim to be open with families about any referrals we make. However, if the police or children’s services advise us that informing a parent might put a child at further risk, we must follow their guidance.

We understand that this can be a sensitive and anxious time for families, but our actions are always guided by legislation designed to put the child’s best interests first.

How to Report a Concern

If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child at our school, please speak to a member of our Safeguarding Team immediately. Alternatively, you can contact Liverpool Child Social Care directly on 0151 459 2606.
